Assessments

We keep monthly records of each child development progress. Every child has a folder where profiles and assessment records are kept along with dated samples of their work.

Their profiles enables the key worker to plan and structure appropriate activities and to follow discussions to take place between staff and parents on their child’s development. The children benefit from structured activities that will challenge and fulfil them.

Shortly after admission to nursery and assessment is carried out to able staff to allocate the child to a key worker, and to plan activities accordingly. At the end of the nursery placement a report is completed for you to pass on to the child’s next placement e.g. school.

Children benefit from these assessments by being provided with activities that will stimulate and result in a feeling of satisfaction and achievement rather than frustration.

The key worker groups were named by the children to help them to recognise the groups they are in, and also to make it more fun.

Tangerine -       Younger 2yr olds

Banana -           Older 2yr olds-3yr olds

Mango -               3yr olds
